Why did you decide to come to West Point? What were some of the deciding factors? Who or what influenced your decision?
I decided to come to West Point because it was more than just a college. It was a promise of developing me into a successful leader on the basketball court, in the academic realm, and also promised me a unique career experience after graduation. However, I made my final decision when I meet the girls on the team. They are an amazing group of young women that I am proud to have as teammates.
What does it mean to you to be able to play basketball at West Point?
It is an honor and privilege to play basketball for West Point. The support from the cadets, faculty and sponsors is amazing and having that thriving atmosphere always motivates me to represent the academy, on and off the court, to my utmost ability. I love wearing ARMY across my uniform.
What is the best thing about being an athlete at West Point?
The best thing about being an athlete at West Point is being proud to say that I represent such an esteemed institution out on the court. Also, the competitive atmosphere is very exciting to be a part of.
What is the most difficult thing?
The most difficult thing is balancing time to accomplish academics at a reasonable time as well as having to keep up with a demanding basketball season schedule; it can often lead to sacrificing some social time and sleep.
What is your fondest memory at West Point?
-In sports?
It is always an exciting experience to beat Navy!
-Outside of sports?
I will always remember the day before graduation during plebe year ('08) when my classmates and I were all recognized; being a PFC is always better than plebe life.
What adjustments have you had to make since arriving here?
-Socially
Sometimes you have to sacrifice all the fun things you want to do in order to fulfill your other duties, both academically and military.
-Athletically
Staying in great shape all year around to ensure that I meet military standards as well as the expectations during the long basketball season.
-Academically
Time management; I thought I had this skill down in high school ,however it was an eye opening experience when I got here and realized I had a lot to learn.
What do you enjoy doing during your "down time"?
During my down time, I enjoy listening to music, spending time with my friends, online shopping (bad habit I need to fix!)
What is your major and what is the most interesting thing you've learned here?
My major is International Law and Legal Studies. The most important thing that I have learned here is the importance of relying on and learning from my peers, teammates, mentors, and professors in order to get the most out of every day.
Which branch are you planning on entering following graduation?
Following graduation I would like to branch Aviation.
What is the best thing about being a cadet at West Point?
The best thing about being a cadet at West Point is knowing that I am receiving a top-rated education at the same time as being able to gain the leadership lessons and experience that will allow me to serve my country in the years to come. Not everyone can say they have the same college experience that West Point cadets have!
