Binghamton Tops Army

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. - The Army wrestling team saw its modest three-match win streak snapped on Sunday afternoon as the Black Knights dropped a 22-12 decision to Binghamton at Shenendehowa High School.
Army sees its record fall to 3-2, while Binghamton improves to 6-2 on the season.
Senior Casey Thome pinned Bryan Guilfolye in the 141-pound bout to lead the way for the Black Knights. Thome needed 4 minutes, 27 seconds to take Guilfoyle to the mat. His triumph, which was immediately preceded by sophomore Jordan Thome's 9-2 win over Dan Riggi at 133 pounds, gave the Black Knights an early 9-3 lead.
Binghamton won six of the next seven matchups, however, as the Bearcats earned the victory. Army's lone victory during the span was produced by sophomore Collin Wittmeyer, who collected a 4-2 decision over Ryan Margariti at 174 pounds.
Army wraps up its weekend later today as the Black Knights battle Ohio University.
