Associate Athletic Director/Administration and Sports Services
Monica Love is the Associate Director of Athletics for Administration and Sports Services at the U.S. Military Academy. Her primary responsibilities at Army include overseeing academic services, compliance services, strength and conditioning, and athletics training. She also has various administrative duties including supervision of six sport programs. At the national level, Love serves on the NCAA Cross Country/Track and Field Committee and the NCAA Initial Eligibility Waivers Committee.
Love arrived at West Point in 2007 after spending three years at Baylor University in Waco, Texas where she served as Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance. There, she was responsible for interpreting and enforcing rules and regulations, preparing NCAA and conference waivers, coordinating the department's rules education program, tracking NCAA legislative proposals, and developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures. In addition to these duties, Love also assisted with championships administration.
Prior to Baylor, Love was the Director for Compliance at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. At Tulane, she coordinated all aspects of the athletics compliance program, served as a liaison to campus offices and external groups, represented the department on two NCAA certification subcommittees, and acted as tournament director for post-season championship events.
Love started her career in intercollegiate athletics as an intern at the University of Iowa, following a stint as a legal assistant at the same university.
Love earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. In 2008, she was awarded the Department of the Army Commander's Award for Public Service for outstanding achievement in service to the U.S. Military Academy. She is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, and the Black Coaches and Administrators Association.
