WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army Athletic Association has announced the addition of Dallas Miller to the Athletic Communications staff as an assistant for the 2009-10 academic and athletic seasons.
As a communications assistant, Miller will be responsible for writing press releases, managing statistics, designing and producing media guides and game management for four of Army's sports. Miller will serve as the primary contact for the Black Knights' sprint football, men's tennis, cross country, and track & field teams, while also assisting with other sports as needed.
The Ontario, N.Y. native spent the last two years at St. John Fisher College outside of Rochester, N.Y. where he worked in a similar capacity. In his time as a Sports Information Staff Associate, Miller was instrumental in a number of projects, including a publicity effort that resulted in the Cardinals' baseball team being awarded the NCAAs All-Division Sportsmanship Award. He also helped to produce a 24 square-foot commemorative photo mosaic that was judged third best in the nation by the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA), and was named as one of 40 Emerging African American Leaders in the greater Rochester area by the Democrat & Chronicle.
In addition to his sports information duties, Miller was a Co-Director of Camp Operations for the 2008 Buffalo Bills Training Camp. He also has media relations work with the 2008 Senior PGA Championship, and the Syracuse University men's basketball team to his credit.
"I'm excited to be on board with the U.S. Military Academy," said Miller. "This is an incredible opportunity and I look forward to the experience."
A three-year letter winner on the St. John Fisher football team, Miller received a bachelor's degree in Communication/Journalism in 2007 and a master's degree in Organizational Learning/Human Resource Development in 2009.
