Army Coaches Conduct Season Ticket Phone-A-Thon
June 09, 2009 | General
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army football season ticket holders who have not renewed for the 2009 season can expect an interesting phone call in the next couple days.
Thirteen Black Knight head coaches have volunteered their time to place special calls over the next three nights to remind Army football fans to lock in their season ticket orders before the upcoming renewal deadline on Monday, June 15.
Joe Sottolano (baseball), Stefanie Golan (women’s soccer), Mickey Wender (swimming & diving), Chuck Barbee (wrestling), Jim Poling (men’s tennis), Michelle DePolo (softball) and Kurt Swanbeck (men’s soccer) have all been enlisted by the Army Athletic Association to make the calls over the next three nights.
“We really appreciate our coaches’ efforts and thank them for all their time,” said Army Assistant Athletic Director for Development Doug Fillis. “They have been a huge asset in helping us maintain our season ticket fan base. It also provides our fans with a unique opportunity to speak with an Army head coach one-on-one.”
Last week, Brian Riley (ice hockey), Dave Magarity (women’s basketball), Alma Kovaci (women’s volleyball), Paul Peck (women’s tennis), Troy Engle (cross country/track & field) and Doug Van Everen (gymnastics) also placed calls during the first two nights of the phone-a-thon.
Benefits of renewing season ticket orders now include giving fans the opportunity to keep the same seats they sat in a year ago as well as receiving their tickets during the first mailing being sent out on Aug. 7. Fans will also have the opportunity to move or upgrade their seats. Requests will be based on priority points and West Point graduates in order of their graduation year.
For more information, call 1-877-TIX-ARMY or log onto the ticket page at www.goARMYsports.com.
Army and first-year head coach Rich Ellerson kick off the 2009 home slate on Saturday, Sept. 12 against visiting Duke. Click here for a full list of season ticket packages available for the upcoming season.
