ITT Knight Vision To Carry 2009 Black Knight Awards Live

WEST POINT, N.Y. ITT Knight Vision will carry the Army Athletic Association’s 2009 Black Knight Awards live on Sunday, May 17, at 7:30 p.m. Families, fans and others not able to attend the awards, which celebrate and highlight the 2008-09 season in Army Athletics, will have the opportunity to watch online via live webcast.

Rich DeMarco, Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Multi-Media and Broadcasting, will serve as the night’s emcee. In its second year of existence, the Black Knight Awards feature an “Oscar”-type feel.
All 25 of Army’s athletic teams, coaches and staff are invited to attend the event. A light reception will precede the formal award show from 7-7:30 p.m. The show is schedule to last until approximately 9 p.m.
The Black Knight Awards will honor All-Americans, scholar-athletes and league champions and several awards will be presented to cadet-athletes. Among the categories are men’s and women’s Team of the Year, Mr. and Mrs. Black Knight, Cow of the Year, Yearling of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Performance of the Year and Play of the Year. In addition, the “A” Club Lifetime Award will be distributed, as will the Maggie Dixon Inspiration Award and the Community Service Award.
DeMarco will serve as the host for the event, which will feature video highlights of all nominees, as well as special commercials featuring members of the athletic department staff.
