Army-Rutgers Experience Options Unveiled On Auction Site
October 07, 2009 | General
WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army football fans will have the chance to experience game day at historic Michie Stadium in a most unique fashion if they so choose. Two "experience" auction offers for the Army-Rutgers 8 p.m. football game on Friday, Oct. 23, have just been unveiled on Army's online auction site.
The first of two experience possibilities for the Black Knights' Oct. 23 clash with nearby rival Rutgers, the top bidder of this package will receive unparalleled access and treatment during a special game day experience. This experience will afford the winning bidder four tickets in Section 27, a parking pass, two complete sets of press packets, an appearance for one member of the winning bid on the Army Football Tailgate Show (6 p.m.), an invitation for four to the Athletic Director’s Tailgate (6:07-6:45 p.m.) on the fourth floor of the Kimsey Athletic Center and four on-field passes (6:45-7:30 p.m.) in the back of the South end zone during Army’s warmup.
A very similar package is also being offered, but features the unique opportunity to experience the Oct. 23 Rutgers game, which is being nationally televised on ESPN2, from the luxury of Hoffman Press Box. Included in this package are two commemorative Cherry Bowl team prints, two complete press packets, two credentials, one parking pass, an appearance on the Army Football Tailgate Show (6:30 p.m.), an on-field experience (6:45-7:30 p.m.) in the back of the South end zone during Army’s warm-up, two seats in Hoffman Press Box, where dinner is included.
Another exciting auction item will remain up for grabs until Friday, Oct. 9, as an autographed game-used ball (see photo at right) from the Army-Ball State game on Sept. 19 is still up for bid. The commemorative Nike ball was used during Army's 24-17 win against Ball State on Sept. 19 and feature a No. 61 stamp and the signatures of the 2009 Black Knights' club. Joe Steffy, Army's Outland Trophy winner as the nation's outstanding lineman, wore that uniform number during his All-American career and it was retired during a halftime ceremony.
Several other items remain on the auction block. Click here to place your bid today!
