WEST POINT, N.Y. - Seven unique and exciting new experiences have been added Army's official auction site, all of which will allow Army football fans to enjoy the Black Knights' home game against Rutgers on Friday, Oct. 23, in a whole new way. In addition, Army basketball fans will have the chance to own a piece of history with an autographed basketball from newly appointed head coach Zach Spiker. Bid now as the auction wraps up today at 2:00 pm ET.
A chance to take a scenic boat ride down the Hudson River to an invitation to Superintendent Franklin L. Hagenbeck's tailgate to sideline access during the Army-Rutgers game to retrieving the tee after kick-off are among the many experiences available through various auction packages.
The Army vs. Rutgers Assistant Coach Experience invites the winning bidder and a guest to walk with the team during Black Knights Walk, attend the Athletic Director's Tailgate at Kimsey Athletic Center and watch the game from the Blaik Field sidelines.
A never-before-offered package, the Superintendent's Package will be given the chance to enjoy the Army-Rutgers game alongside some of the biggest names at the Academy. This package includes two invitations to the Superintendent's Tailgate at Eisenhower Hall, two tickets to watch the game from the Superintendent's Loge and an A Lot parking pass. Dress code for the game is jacket and tie for men and equivalent for women.
The Army-Rutgers Cruise Experience is ideal for anyone traveling to the Hudson Valley on Thursday, Oct. 22. The winning bid of this package will join members of the Army Athletic Association for a cruise down the scenic Hudson River, which includes light food and beverages. This experience also includes four tickets to include sideline privileges during warm-ups.
For a younger Army fan, the Tee-Taker Experience is ideal. The winner of this auction will run onto the field to pick up the Army tee at historic Michie Stadium. Only those 14 years and younger are eligible and the winner will be on the Army sidelines and then retrieve the kicking tee from the opening kickoff of either the first or second half depending on when Army kicks off. Also included in the package are four tickets in Section 27, a parking pass, four press kits and an Army t-shirt.
Plenty more experience options are available for the Army-Rutgers showdown. Additional items on the auction block include both autographed and un-signed versions of the commemorative Joe Steffy Day footballs used during Army's win over Ball State on Sept. 19. Both Nike footballs are stamped with the number 61 in recognition of Joe Steffy's #61 retirement on that day.
The Army basketball program is under new leadership, as Zach Spiker was introduced as the 30th head coach in program history at a formal press conference on Oct. 6. An official, Spiker-autographed basketball to commemorate the occasion is also up for grabs.
