WEST POINT, N.Y. The Army Athletic Association has added a new feature to its official web site and will offer fans priceless experiences, game-used items, photos and much more with the addition of on-line auctions.
Four items are now up at www.goARMYsports.com with much more to be added in the coming weeks and months. Fans must bid on-line and do so by clicking here, or following the Online Auctions link on the right-hand navigation menu off of the home page.
The auction items now posted are all associated with the Army-Navy football game. The 2008 Army-Navy Game Experience is the top item and will offer fans unprecedented access to college football’s greatest rivalry. The winning bidder gets two pregame on-field passes, two suite tickets that include food and beverages for the entire game, one parking pass and two tickets to a postgame reception (with food and beverages included) at Vespa’s restaurant in Philadelphia that is being hosted by Army Director of Athletics Kevin Anderson.
If you can’t make it to the game, the other three items may be for you. A limited edition framed lithograph titled, “Duty, Honor, Defend” is being offered as is “Army-Navy Classic,” a lithograph that is sold out and unavailable. The final item available today is a replica 1958 Bob Anderson #21 model Army football helmet by Historic Helmets. The helmet is autographed by National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame member Bob Anderson.
