WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Dennis Trapani has recently been named Multi-Media Services, Broadcasting and Community Outreach Assistant, a newly created position designed to serve the needs of Army’s growing multi-media and broadcasting endeavors.
Trapani will be chiefly working with Knight Vision, Army’s video and audio streaming outlet that underwent a major expansion this summer in order to offer more day-to-day content and game coverage for all of Army’s varsity teams. In addition to managing the editing and camera work for Knight Vision, Trapani will be called upon to provide play-by-play for various sports throughout the academic year.
Trapani comes to Army after a two-year stint working in the Media Relations Department at the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. During that time, his responsibilities included coordinating player interviews during game and off-days, creating content for the team’s game program and conducting one-on-one interviews with players for radio broadcasts.
A native of Erie, Pa., Trapani graduated magna cum laude from Gannon University in May 2007 with a degree in Communication Arts. While at Gannon, he served as Sports Director of WERG-FM, the school’s 3,000-watt, student-run radio station. At WERG, he provided play-by-play for Gannon’s women’s basketball team, calling games during both the 2006 and 2007 Great Leaks Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournaments, along with the 2007 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Tournament.
Trapani, 21, currently resides in West Point, N.Y.
