Rich DeMarco
Assistant AD/Marketing, Multi-Media Services and Broadcasting 

An individual whose voice is familiar to Army fans worldwide, Rich DeMarco is in his seventh year with the Army Athletic Association. After serving as the Black Knights’ director of broadcasting the past three years, the New Jersey product added the title of director of multi-media services and community outreach during the summer of 2007. Less than one year later, DeMarco was elevated to the title of assistant athletic director for marketing, multi-media services and broadcasting.

DeMarco serves as the radio play-by-play voice for Black Knights football broadcasts, and also hosts Army’s weekly football radio show.  During the winter months, DeMarco calls the radio play-by-play of Army’s men's and women's basketball teams. He was behind the microphone for the Black Knights’ NCAA women’s basketball tournament appearance in 2006. DeMarco also handles play-by-play duties for Army's baseball team – broadcasting NCAA Tournament games in 2004, 2005 and 2009 – and has called games for the Black Knights lacrosse program, including their NCAA Tournament appearances 2004 and 2005 and 2010.

In addition to his radio responsibilities, DeMarco is charged with producing and maintaining all multi-media content on Army’s official Web site, helping to launch Army’s audio and video streaming initiatives from the ground floor.

Prior to his arrival at West Point, DeMarco hosted a nightly talk-show and was associate sports director at WCTC Radio in New Brunswick, N.J. While at WCTC, DeMarco also held a variety of positions with the Rutgers Radio Network, including handling play-by-play duties for the Scarlet Knights’ nationally ranked women's basketball team -- including their appearances in the 2003 and 2004 NCAA Tournaments -- as well as working as a sideline reporter and pregame/postgame host for the Rutgers football and men's basketball programs.

From 1998-1999, DeMarco worked as a producer at WFAN Radio in New York City, while working as a news and sports reporter at WGHT Radio in Pompton Lakes, N.J.

DeMarco also had two one-year stints with the New Jersey Red Dogs of the Arena Football League, filling the role of public relations assistant in 1997, and also worked as the team's public address announcer at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, N.J, in 1999.

DeMarco began his association with professional sports teams in 1996, serving as a game day public relations assistant for Major League Soccer's New York/New Jersey MetroStars for three years (1996-98). He worked in a similar capacity for the New York CityHawks of the Arena Football League in 1998. DeMarco was part of the game day media relations staff at the 1996 and 1997 MLS All-Star games held in East Rutherford, N.J., and Arena Bowl XI, held in Phoenix, Ariz., in 1997.

While at WCTC, DeMarco received several accolades from the New Jersey Associated Press Broadcasters Association (NJAPBA), including "Best Sports Program" in 2003 for his Saturday afternoon "Football USA" scoreboard show, and "Best 9-11 Coverage" in 2002 for his role in the station's reporting of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. DeMarco also earned a "Best News Coverage" award in 2000 from the New Jersey Broadcasters Association for his reporting of the aftermath of Tropical Storm Floyd in central New Jersey.

A 1998 graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., where he earned degrees in Journalism/Mass Media and Communication, DeMarco shouldered duties as sports director at WRSU Radio, and was the station's lead play-by-play announcer for the Rutgers football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, lacrosse and soccer programs. DeMarco also worked as a student assistant in Rutgers’ sports media relations department.
