The Truxtun Lacrosse Center is just a stone’s throw away from Michie Stadium, where the Army men’s lacrosse team competes. Truxtun houses the Black Knights’ locker room, equipment and sports medicine areas, a spacious weight room and coach and team meeting rooms.
The Truxtun Lacrosse Center was built in honor of Thomas Truxun, a three-time All-American and captain of Army’s 1937 club. He also lettered three years in soccer and is enshrined in the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in Baltimore, Md. After departing from West Point in 1937, Truxtun went on to a Lieutenant Colonel ranking. He was killed in action on June 6, 1945 in serving in the Philippines. Truxtun was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart while serving his country.
