Assistant Director, Athletic Communications
Christian Anderson is in the midst of his fourth year in the Army Office of Athletic Communications, and second as assistant director.
The 2003 Syracuse University graduate has been involved in all aspects of the athletic communications operation since his arrival in August 2003. Presently, he oversees daily athletic communications for the men’s and women's basketball teams, as well as the men’s and women’s cross country teams and men’s and women’s track and field squads.
Anderson also serves as one of the secondary contacts for the Black Knights’ historic football program, traveling on road trips to assist with media coverage. Anderson has worked at several high-profile events, to include the last four Army-Navy football games in Philadelphia, Pa.
Anderson has copped eight awards for his media guides from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), including four “Best in District” plaudits.
Anderson graduated from Syracuse University’s renowned S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in May of 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in public relations. While completing his undergraduate degree at Syracuse, Anderson worked in the Syracuse University Athletic Communications office under Sports Information Director Sue Edson.
The South Sutton, N.H. native assisted in the production of media guides and game notes, wrote feature stories and press releases and assisted the staff at various Syracuse athletic events.
Anderson currently resides at West Point, N.Y.
