Expanded Options Available On Subscription Streaming Service
Army fans will have more access to audio and video coverage of Black Knight athletic events than ever before this year thanks to the Army Athletic Association’s continued commitment to expanding its reach via the internet.
Partnered with XOs Technologies, www.goARMYsports.com, the official Web site of the Army Athletic Association, offers fans a subscription-based package titled Knight Vision." Through Knight Vision, fans will gain multi-media access to over 150 scheduled live and archived events throughout the course of the academic year to include audio and video streaming of game action, postgame press conferences, coaches’ shows and weekly press conferences.
In addition to the live streaming option, www.goARMYsports.com has debuted a new "Pay-Per-View" initiative that will feature historical audio and video premium content from the Army Athletic Association’s archives vault. Six different entries, a mixture of classic audio and video segments, will be featured each month, including classic football highlight reels and archived audio game broadcasts. Features for the month of September include classic football highlight reels from the 1953 and 1986 seasons (narrated by Mel Allen and Harry Kalas, respectively), a 2006 football preview video produced by Rob O’Sullivan and the Army Sports Network radio broadcast of the 2006 Patriot League Women’s Basketball Championship game.
As in the past, fans will have an opportunity to listen to the Army football team’s postgame press conference for all home contests. The press conferences include statements from head coach Bobby Ross and several selected players each week. Additionally, the Army Football Tailgate Show, which returns following a five-year absence, will be included in the package. For the first time, the 90-minute pregame football show will be broadcast before every home and away Army football contest, serving as a fitting-lead-in to the Army Sports Network’s pregame radio show, which airs 30 minutes prior to kickoff on game days.
In addition to those exciting new initiatives, the following Army inventory is scheduled for availability via Knight Vision this season: live game audio of all football and men’s basketball games; live game audio of at least 25 women’s basketball games; live game audio of at least 20 hockey games; live audio of Bobby Ross’ weekly football radio show (Inside Army Football with Bobby Ross); live audio of Bobby Ross’ weekly Tuesday press conferences; live audio of major press conference’s held at the Academy; and live game audio of selected men’s and women’s soccer, wrestling, baseball, softball and lacrosse games. Plans are also in place to debut a new live video streaming package that will include coverage of select athletic events later this season. All of these events will be archived and available to subscribers on an unlimited basis throughout the season.
Subscription plans are now available for purchase on Army’s official intercollegiate Web site at www.goARMYsports.com. Fans can purchase monthly subscriptions to both Knight Vision ($6.95) and the Pay-Per-View package ($4.95). For $9.95 per month, fans will gain unlimited access to both areas. Annual subscriptions, which include unlimited access to all of Army’s premium content contained on both Knight Vision and the Pay-Per-View package, are available at a rate of $59.95 and remain the most economical option for Army fans.
Fans wishing to sample Army’s premium content offerings are invited to access Knight Vision and the Pay-Per-View package this week during a Free Preview Special that is scheduled to run through Monday, Sept. 4. Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 5, all of Army’s premium content must be accessed through the subscription plan.
The first scheduled Army event available on Knight Vision will be Ross’ weekly Tuesday press conference (Aug. 29), beginning at noon, in advance of the Black Knights’ football season opener Saturday versus Arkansas State. Other football events available this week include the Inside Army Football with Bobby Ross weekly radio show on Thursday (7-8 p.m.), the Army Football Tailgate Show on Saturday (5-6:30 p.m.), the Army Football Pregame Show on Saturday (6:30-7 p.m.) and the Army versus Arkansas State football game call on Saturday (7-10 p.m.).
