While Sports Illustrated and Inside Sports magazines have selected Michie as the country's premiere college football venue, The Sporting News listed the Black Knight's home stadium as its top "Must See" venue for college football. In its June 7, 1999 edition, Sports Illustrated ranked Michie Stadium third on its list of favorite athletic venues, "the best places in the world to watch sports," behind only Yankee Stadium and Augusta National.
