Men's Tennis Tops UC Riverside on West Coast Trip

RIVERSIDE, CA - Army West Point men's tennis (9-8, 1-0 Patriot League) took down UC Riverside (5-10, 0-0 Big West) by a score of 4-1 after falling to UC Irvine (3-6, 0-0 Big West).

Kicking off the California pitstop against Irvine, the duo of Vishny Bodavula and Samuel Eden secured a (6-2) doubles win on court two, with the point eventually going to the Highlanders. Samuel Eden made quick work off his opponent on court six, dropping just one game in a (6-0, 6-1) victory. The Black Knights were shutout the rest of the way, and entered a Sunday matchup against Riverside.

Army made good on the doubles point against the Anteaters, with AJ Woodman/Thomas Lake taking care of business on court one (6-1) and Jake Huarte/Nathan Jose picking up a (6-2) win on court six. Samuel Haikal was first to finish in singles, quickly logging a(6-1, 6-0) win on court five. Vishnu Bodavula finished off his opponent in two sets (7-5, 6-3) on court three, as Army held a 3-1 lead with three matches going to a third set. Marcus Sebastian was able to break through first, clinching an Army victory with a (6-4, 4-6, 6-3) win on court six.
