Q&A with Christian Anderson
Q: Why did you decide to attend West Point?
CA: I decided to come to West Point because I always saw myself as a leader ever since I was young and West Point gave me the opportunity to develop the leadership skills I already had and become an even better leader. Football has always been a huge part of my life and I always wanted to play at the highest level and one of the biggest determinants in me coming to West Point was seeing Army break the streak and beating Navy in 2016. The overall atmosphere and competition of the game was something I, one day, wanted to be part of.
Q: Aside from football, what’s been your favorite part of West Point?
CA: Aside from football, my favorite part of West Point has been getting to know so many incredible people. My teammates, company mates, and classmates are life-long friends that have helped make West Point an incredible journey for me. If it were not for these relationships, I do not think I would be able to make it through the institution.
Q: What was it like to be a part of the team that beat both Navy and Air Force at Michie Stadium?
CA: Being a part of the team that had to embrace so many trials and tribulations and still ended up on the top of the service academy rivalry will always remain special in my heart. It was a very tough year with all the complications with Covid-19 and not being able to leave campus, but the team stayed together and was determined to win back the CIC Trophy. Being able to play at home made it even more special because it was history in the making and the atmosphere of the game, even though it was just the cadets from both sides, was amazing. Add in the fact that we had to play both Navy and Air Force in back-to-back weeks makes the wins even more incredible.
Q: What’s been your favorite non-football memory at the Academy?
CA: My favorite non-football memory at West Point is definitely my plebe year when I had to recite a section of Shakespeare’s play, “Macbeth”, in front of my classmates in Robinson Auditorium. It was special for me because it wasn’t something I was super comfortable with but it was a very funny and cool experience and I was able to do it pretty well.

Q: What are you hoping to branch?
CA: I am hoping to branch Signal.
Q: When you get free time, what are your favorite things to do?
CA: In my free time I love to watch anime. I became a huge fan when Covid-19 hit, and it has become my favorite thing to do in my spare time. Other than that, I love to hang out with my friends and watch movies, play basketball, or play on my Playstation and play Madden.
