Q&A with Jakobi Buchanan
Q: Why did you decide to attend West Point?
JB: My father was an officer in the Army and serving has always been a part of my family’s history. I also wanted to play big-time football while getting an education from one of the most prestigious schools in the country.
Q: Aside from football, what’s been your favorite part of West Point?
JB: Meeting new people who have become some of my best friends.
Q: What was it like to be on the team that beat Navy and Air Force at home last year?
JB: The feeling of scoring the winning touchdown against Air Force and winning the CIC was my most cherished and best accomplishment of my life, and it was a feeling that I couldn’t even put into words.
Q: What’s been your favorite non-football memory at the Academy?
JB: My plebe year I created an army with other plebes in C4, and we conducted water gun raids against other people in different barracks. We were known as the C4 Mafia.
Q: What are you hoping to branch?
JB: My top three branches are Armor, Air Defense Artillery and Field Artillery.

Q: When you get free time, what are your favorite things to do?
JB: I love to play video games and listen to music. It allows me to connect with my friends at the Academy and also my friends back home.
