Strack Promoted to Associate Head Coach
June 21, 2018 | Women's Basketball
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point head women's basketball coach Dave Magarity announced that current assistant Lisa Strack has been elevated to associate head coach on Thursday.
"Lisa has done an exceptional job throughout her tenure with our program," Magarity said. "Her knowledge of the game combined with her recruiting experience at Army West Point has been critical to our success. She has been tremendously loyal and her work ethic is outstanding. With the addition of three new assistant coaches, she will do a terrific job in her new role on our staff."
Strack joined the coaching staff prior to the 2014-15 campaign and has played an instrumental part in the Black Knights' success. The Cadets have compiled a record of 91-34 with a trio of 20-win seasons in her tenure, including a program-best 29 victories in her second year.
Under Strack's guidance, Army has claimed a Patriot League title, made a WNIT appearance and won six Patriot League Tournament contests. The team has also been able to extend its streak of consecutive winning seasons to six, which is a program best.
During her time on the staff, Army has received several Patriot League postseason honors, including eight all-league players and a trio of all-defensive team accolades. A Cadet has earned first team recognition in each of Strack's four seasons.
Strack will continue to serve as the team's recruiting coordinator and handle opponent scouting duties while in her new role.
