2018 Volleyball Schedule
Â
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Head coach Alma Kovaci Lee has unveiled the 29-game volleyball schedule for 2018 which includes two home tournaments as well as invitationals hosted by Rhode Island and Florida.
Â
"Our young team put a lot of good work in the spring and we are looking forward to the 2018 season," said Kovaci Lee. "We will rely on trust, teamwork and effort. We lost a few key players due to graduation last season and the team has worked really hard to create great chemistry on the court. Our tournaments are quite challenging but they also present opportunities for us to grow mentally and trust in the power of the team. We will get better every time we step on the court. Our goal remains the same; to play out absolute best at the end of the regular season and win the Patriot League Championship. It will be a fun and competitive journey."
Â
For the second year in a row, the season will start at Gillis Field House with the Army Invitational beginning Aug. 24-25. It will be back-to-back home weekends as the Black Knights Invitational follows on Aug. 31-Sept. 1.
Â
The first road test will be the annual match against Marist on Sept. 4, before the team travels to the URI Invitational and then the Gators Invitational.
Â
Four straight home matches open Patriot League play before an October spent on the road including the annual Star Match against Navy on Oct. 6. Army's lone home game in the month will be opposite Bucknell (Nov. 2).
Â
The Black Knights' senior match will be on Nov. 10 against American before the Patriot League Tournament begins on Nov. 17-18.
