Black Knights Wrap Up Competition at Shea
May 11, 2018 | Women's Track and Field
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's track and field team wrapped up the action at the West Point Twilight Meet at Shea Stadium.
Coach's Quotes
"The conference meet and the star meet are team competitions where we keep score and the focus is entirely on the team outcome. The West Point Twilight is entirely different. The goal tonight was to have a relaxed fun atmosphere with a focus on running fast, throwing far, jumping far and jumping high. It is all about individual performances. We definitely achieved our objective tonight."
"Mother Nature threw a wrench into the schedule with some rain, some thunder and some lightning, so we were delayed about 90 minutes. When we came back the conditions were ideal."
"On the women's side I thought Cassie did a nice job in her 800. Although it was not a personal best it was a season's best."
"Now we have to wait and see if these improvements get these kids into the NCAA postseason. They have to end up in the top 48 in the East Region in order to advance, so we will have to wait and see how it all plays out over the weekend. It was a great atmosphere down at the track tonight and a great night of racing and competition."
