On Point: A Family Affair
March 08, 2018 | Men's Lacrosse
Choosing to serve in the military isn't an easy decision to make, especially for a high school kid. Nate Jones of the Army West Point men's lacrosse team knew serving his country was something he wanted to do from an early age.
Jones grew up in awe of his parents and their own careers. His mother served in the Navy and his father is an active duty Marine. He wanted to follow in their footsteps. However, military life can be tough on children and Jones was no different. He called 11 different places home growing up, including Italy, California and South Carolina. Despite all the moving around, Jones was able to play lacrosse at an elite level thanks to the sacrifices of his parents. Thanks to them, Nate can now follow both his dreams, playing Division I lacrosse and serving his country.
