Army Back on Road For Three Neutral Site Games

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point baseball team heads to Cary, N.C., this weekend for three neutral site games.
The Black Knights will face off against Bryant, Niagara and Boston College while down there.
Friday's game will be against the Bulldogs and is slated for 1:30 p.m. Army then meets the Purple Eagles on Saturday for a 4 p.m. first pitch. The Cadets close out their weekend with a 11:30 a.m. contest against the Eagles of Boston College.Â
Bryant is 0-6 on the early season, having dropped all of its contests to Arizona and Auburn. Niagara sits with an overall record of 1-2, with its lone win coming in its opener at Longwood. Boston College holds a record of 3-3 on the year. The Eagles have posted wins against Santa Clara (2) and Rutgers.

INSIDE INFO
- The Black Knights finished 2-1 last weekend at Maryland.
- Army won the series, pushing them to 3-2 this year against Big Ten opponents as the Black Knights also went 1-2 against Michigan during their opening weekend.
- The Cadets received stellar pitching, including an impressive outing from senior Matt Ball.
- Ball earned the win in Game 2 after giving up just four hits in 7.2 innings of work. The Charlotte, N.C., native also fanned seven during his time on the hill.
- Friday night starter, Tyler Giovinco, also had a great outing for the Black and Gold. The junior allowed two runs on only four hits while striking out four in his 6.1 innings of work.
- Senior Jon Rosoff batted .500 on the weekend after going 4-for-8 with four walks.
- Jacob Hurtubise had strong performances as well, closing out his weekend 5-for-13 with two runs, two RBI and a pair of walks. The sophomore also swiped a team-best three bases, while making five putouts as Army's centerfielder.

- The Black Knights will next kick off their 10-day spring break trip to Florida.Â
- While down south, Army will face Rutgers, Stetson, Rhode Island and South Florida.
- Army and Rutgers begin their three-game neutral site series on Friday in Fort Myers, Fla. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m. These two squads will also meet on Saturday at 2 p.m. before closing out the weekend with a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday.
- The Black Knights then travel to Stetson for two games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both game times are slated for 6:30 p.m.
- On Thursday of that week, the Cadets and Rhode Island will meet for a neutral site single game at Stetson's facility. That contest is scheduled for 1 p.m.
- To close out the trip, Army will travel to USF for a three-game series. First pitch on Friday and Saturday is 6:30 p.m. before these two teams face off on Sunday at 1 p.m.
