Army Meets Navy in Star Game on Saturday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The 2018 installment of the Star Game series between the Army West Point women's basketball team and Navy will be played at Christl Arena on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.

GAMEDAY STORYLINES
• Saturday's contest marks the 30th edition of the Star Game.
• Junior Madison Hovren is eight points shy from passing Mary Langendorf for 15th in all-time scoring.
• Senior Daizjah Morris needs one steal to take sole possession of 10th all-time in career steals. She is currently tied with Laurie Goetz '87 with 168.
• Since the 2001-02 season, Army is 12-3 against Navy in games played in the month of February.
• Three of the last four meetings between Army and Navy have been decided by single digits.

• This year, the Cadets Against Sexual Harassment and Assault (CASHA) committee has partnered with It's On Us and the One Love Foundation to bring awareness to the Academy's overall mission to create a culture inhospitable to sexual violence. The Corps of Cadets will be wearing custom-made West Point It's On Us t-shirts, an initiative promoted by USMA leadership and made possible by the Cadets and officers devoted to the cause.

• The Black Knights have claimed 11 of the last 15 star game meetings.
• Nationally, Hovren is tied for sixth in double-doubles with Nicole Enabosi of Delaware. She is the only forward under the six-foot mark inside the top-37 nationally in double-doubles.
• Senior Janae McNeal needs just seven more assists this season to break into the top-10 all-time at the Academy.
• Army's starters have been responsible for 74 percent of the team's scoring this season.
NAVY (19-4, 9-3 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Since falling to Bucknell on Jan. 24, the Midshipmen have rattled off three consecutive league wins and sit tied for second place in the Patriot League at 9-3. Navy has been red hot as of late, picking up wins in eight of its last nine outings.
• Seniors Taylor Dunham and Hannah Fenske have paced the squad offensively, putting up 15.0 and 12.7 points per game, respectively. The duo have combined to knock down 126 3-pointers this season, while both shooting over 38 percent from deep. Sophomore Kaila Clark has evolved into a threat on both sides of the ball, scoring 7.5 points per game, while leading her team in rebounding (8.7) and blocks (2.2).
• The Midshipmen boast the top-scoring offense in the league at 68.3 points per game, while also limiting the opposition to a league-low 54.7 points per outing. Navy takes great care of the ball and holds a +4.9 turnover margin and a 1.11 assist/turnover ratio.
• Three or more Mids have reached double-digit points in each of the last three games, with Dunham leading the charge with 15.7 points per game.
