McKenna Earns Patriot League Player of Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Patriot League announced Monday that John McKenna of Army West Point baseball was named the Player of the Week following his strong weekend performance.
The first baseman earned his first career weekly praise after batting .462 to help Army take one of three games against Michigan.
McKenna finished 6-for-13 with two runs and one RBI to help the Black Knights over the weekend. The Parkland, Fla., native had multi-hit games in each of Army's three outings against the Wolverines. He posted a .500 on-base percentage, while slugging .692, with a double and his first career triple. He also had a stolen base. McKenna went 2-for-5 and drove in a run in the Black Knights win over Michigan on Saturday. He also went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in a 12-6 loss on Friday.
The sophomore was also tabbed the College Sports Madness Patriot League Baseball Player of the Week for his impressive weekend.
Army West Point plays a midweek game at Fordham on Wednesday at 3 p.m. The Black Knights head to College Park, Md. to a play a three-game weekend series at Maryland, beginning on Friday.
