2018 Schedule
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point softball head coach Michelle DePolo announced the 2018 schedule on Wednesday afternoon.
The 55-game slate features 12 games at the Army West Point Softball Complex.
DePolo and the Black Knights will open the season on Feb. 9 with games against UConn and Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Fla. The Cadets will meet Jacksonville State, a NCAA Tournament team last season, an additional time before taking on Jacksonville U. and UConn to close out their three-day stay.
Following a few days off, the Black Knights will fly out west to Palm Springs, Calif., to see UC-Riverside, Weber State, Stanford, Sacramento State and UAB over a three-day period.
The Black Knights will then spend March 2-4 in Fairfax, Va., before trekking back down to Florida to play 11 games in nine days against 10 different opponents at the USF Under Armour Showcase. During their time in Florida, the Cadets will be pinned against opponents such as Villanova, USF and Butler, along with several others.
Army has a mid-week double header at Yale on March 21 before Patriot League play commences on the 24th. The Cadets will take on Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pa., for a three-game road trip before opening the home slate on March 31 against Boston U. League play will continue throughout April with an occasional non-league contest sprinkled in the mix.
Black Knight fans will have plenty of opportunities to see their team in action as all eight of Army's final regular season games will be played at West Point.
Army will play host to the defending league champs, Lehigh, in a three-game series that is scheduled for April 28-29. The Cadets will then host Siena for a doubleheader on May 1, before closing out the regular season with a weekend series against Lafayette on May 5-6.
The Patriot League Tournament is scheduled for May 10-13.
