Black Knights Drop Decision to Drexel
January 20, 2018 | Wrestling
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point wrestling team dropped a 20-12 decision to Drexel here at Gillis Field House on Saturday afternoon.
Â
The Black Knights move to 1-5 overall and 0-2 against Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) opponents, while the Dragons improve to 7-2 and 2-2.
Â
Army got out to a 6-0 lead after picking up decision in the first two bouts and won three of the first four. Drexel won the next three, however, to pull ahead, 14-9.
Â
Sophomore Ben Harvey cut the home team's deficit to two after scrambling to a 7-5 decision in the first sudden victory period. Unfortunately, that would be as close as Army would get to recapturing the lead as the Dragons won the final two matches to claim the win.
