Women's Hoops Treks to Lafayette on Thursday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's basketball team looks regroup and halt a two-game skid down in Easton, Pa., on Thursday night against Lafayette in a Patriot League game scheduled for 7 p.m. at Kirby Sports Center.

GAMEDAY STORYLINES
• Junior Madison Hovren is eight points away from passing Leeann Duhoski '90 for 23rd in all-time scoring at West Point.
• Army head coach Dave Magarity will coach his 999th career game on Thursday.
• Lafayette is in search of its third conference win of the season. It would be the first time since the 2015-16 campaign that the Leopards had three regular season league wins.

ARMY (8-7, 1-3 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• The Black Knights are looking to snap a two-game losing streak to avoid dropping three straight Patriot League regular season games for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign.
• Senior Aliyah Murray is second in the league with 17.0 points per game, while connecting on 47 percent of her shot attempts. She has also added 6.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per outing.
• Hovren currently ranks 24th all-time in scoring and 22nd in all-time rebounds at West Point.
• The Black Knights have scored 56 percent of their points from down low over the past nine games.
LAFAYETTE (6-8, 2-2 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Despite losing four of its top six scorers from a season ago, Lafayette has improved drastically from its 4-28 mark in the 2016-17 season. The Leopards have picked up six wins, including Patriot League victories over Holy Cross and Colgate.
• Lafayette brought in a solid freshman class and first-year forward Natalie Kucowski has paced the squad with 11.6 points per outing to pair with a league-best 11.4 rebounds per game. She is just one of two Patriot League players averaging a double-double and was recently tabbed the league's rookie of the week for the third time.
• The Leopards have also received contributions from senior 3-point specialist Anna Ptasinski, who has put in 24 shots from long range and is averaging 8.0 points per game. Freshmen Olivia Martino and Drew Freeland have also played major roles for the revamped Leopards, each putting up 7.7 points per contest.
• Four of the Leopards' six wins this season have come at Kirby Sports Center with the only two losses coming from a solid A-10 opponent in La Salle and a Princeton squad that is 11-3.
