Army Set for Showdown at Stony Brook

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Following Friday's thrilling 1-0 overtime triumph against San Diego State, the Army West Point Men's Soccer team is back in action to face off against Stony Brook at 7 p.m. on Monday in Stony Brook, N.Y.
For the second straight contest, the Black Knights will be pinned against an unfamiliar opponent, as Army and Stony Brook have not met prior to Monday's scheduled showdown.
ARMY (1-0, 0-0 Patriot League)
• The Black Knights are coming off a 1-0 overtime victory against San Diego State this past Friday.
• Army displayed its young talent in the season opener, starting eight underclassmen against the Aztecs, including Roman Guiseppi, Christian Takaki and Deco Costa, who all made their debuts for the Black Knights.
• Sophomore Rex Epps, who led the team in goals last season, picked up right where he left off in 2016, tallying his sixth career game-winning score.
• Army will look to get off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2013.

• The Seawolves played to a 9-6-3 overall record in 2016 season, before it ended with a loss in the first round of the America East Conference Tournament.
• Stony Brook is currently in the midst of a four-game homestand, which began with a 2-0 victory over Canisius in the 2017 season opener on Friday.
• It was a dominating effort for the Seawolves, who outshot Canisius 23-6, including an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal.
