CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Army West Point women's track and field team along with three cadet-athletes were honored for outstanding work in the classroom.

The women's program was recognized as a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team. Squads must have a 3.00 cumulative team GPA to qualify as an All-Academic Team. Overall, 360 NCAA Division I teams, including 218 women's teams and 142 men's teams were honored.

Along with its team honor, Army also saw three acknowledged for their individual academic efforts. Sophomore Kenneth Brinson and senior Jacob Fong were given praise from the men's side, while sophomore Cassie Mundekis made the cut on the women's side.

Overall, 516 men and 752 women were named as USTFCCCA All-Academic Individuals. To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org. Or, for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
