June 29, 2017 | Wrestling
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Former Army wrestler David Farr (Class of '17) was awarded the Rotary Scholarship and will be studying at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland next year.
Rotary invests more than seven million dollars each year in our future leaders and philanthropists by funding scholarships for undergraduate and graduate study. At Edinburgh, Farr will pursue his master's degree in Operational Research with Data Science.
Farr recently graduated from the academy with a degree in Systems Engineering and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the Cyber branch.
On the mat, Farr compiled a record of 33-30 as a heavyweight. He earned six bonus point victories with four pins and two technical falls, in addition to posting a 2-1 record versus service-academy rival Navy. The Cornwall, N.Y., native won his lone tournament title at the 2014-15 "Shorty" Hitchcock Invitational.
