June 01, 2017 | Men's Lacrosse
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Head coach Joe Alberici and the Army West Point lacrosse program celebrated the season recently and the Class of 2017 at its annual team banquet at West Point's Kimsey Athletic Center.
The coaching staff distributed 10 team awards during the afternoon, while coach Alberici honored the senior class with talks about outstanding character and servant leadership on and off the field.
The Class of 2017, which was commissioned during commencement exercises on May 27 at Michie Stadium, authored 41 wins as a class, which tied for the most in Army history. They earned 10 or more wins in a season three out of four years and made it to three consecutive Patriot League Championship games.
Along with a large spread of food and drinks, provided by the Lacrosse Parents' Club, a room full of family, players and support staff gathered as Major "A" letters were presented to each athlete by position. Following the presentation of the letters, Alberici continued with the official distribution of the team's Player of the Game certificates, along with the mention of the All-Patriot League players and Patriot League All-Academic Team selections.
