Grabher Honored for Academic Success

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Senior Dan Grabher was rewarded for his work in the classroom as he was named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team on Thursday.Â
Grabher earned a spot on the All-Academic Team for the first time in his career and it comes on the heels of his Faceoff Specialist of the Year award he earned from the Patriot League. He was also named to the first team when the postseason awards came out. Grabher is a Systems Engineering major at West Point with a 3.364 grade point average.
The senior is second in the Patriot League in faceoff winning percentage and is among the best ground ball battlers in the league. He has a .637 faceoff winning percentage, while picking up 7.85 ground balls per game.Â
Six All-Academic selections were also named to the All-League team announced on Monday, including four first-team and two second-team members.

In addition, three student-athletes are repeat All-Academic selections: Jack Wilson (Boston U.), Mike Schiappa (Bucknell), and Sherlock.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
The selection process was conducted by the League's men's lacrosse sports information directors, who could not vote for their own student-athletes.
