Win Streak Ends for #6/8 Black Knights

ANNAPOLIS. Md. - The No. 6/8/ Army West Point men's lacrosse team saw its win streak come to an end on Saturday as Navy won the Star game with a 10-6 victory on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium.
The Black Knights still have chance to get the top seed in the Patriot League Tournament when they take on Loyola. The winner of the game Friday night at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network will be the regular season champion and host the semifinals and championship.
The Mids (6-7, 4-4 Patriot League) finished the game with seven straight goals to turn a 6-3 Army lead into a 10-6 victory. Ryan Wade was the catalyst with two of the final seven goals, while Dave Little scored the gamewinner with 8:20 on the clock. Navy held Army scoreless for the final 16:11 on the clock.
Rookie netminder Ryan Kern made 17 saves in the cage to shutdown the Army offense.
The Black Knights (10-2, 6-1 Patriot League) got two goals from Nate Jones and David Symmes, while Ted Glesener, Cole Johnson and Dan Grabher. AJ Barretto finished with six saves in the loss.
The faceoff battle between Grabher and Brady Dove went to the Navy specialist with 11-of-19 won at the x.

TURNING POINT
- Navy scored three goals in two minutes at the end of the third quarter and to start the fourth to tie the game at 6-6. It started a 7-0 run to finish the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Black Knights were held scoreless in the first quarter first time this season and Navy had a 2-0 lead after the first 15 minutes.
- Army got it going in the second with Nate Jones getting his team on the board with an assist to Gunnar Miller and then Dan Grabher tied it 10 seconds later after winning the faceoff.
- Navy answered moments later and then Ted Glesener let one loose and tied it at 3-3 with just over three minutes to go in the half.
- The Black Knights were able to take the 4-3 lead into halftime with an incredible goal from Jones. Symmes gathered the ball with the seconds ticking away and threw it towards goal and Jones beat his defender and bounced one past Kern for his second of the day.
- Army started out great in the second half with the first two goals coming from Symmes and Johnson, but from there Navy took over and closed it out.

- The Black Knights play their final conference game of the season on Friday night under the lights at Michie Stadium on CBS Sports Network at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available as the top two seeds in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament go head-to-head.
