Cadets to Take Part in Augusta Invitational

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's golf team is heading to Augusta, Ga., for the 39th annual 3M Augusta Invitational over the weekend. The last time the Black Knights participated in the Augusta Invitational they finished 12th shooting 917 with a four man squad.

In their last outing, the Black Knights climbed their way into second place at the Seahawk Invitational. After the first day of competition, Army had accumulated a team score of 309 (+38) placing it seventh in a tough field. The Cadets turned it around during the second day making their line 309-305-290 – 940 (+89) on the weekend.

Senior Peter Kim was the top scorer for the Black Knights. He finished tied for fifth with a score of 73-76-68 – 217 (+1). Dean Sakata was next in line when he finished 28th with a final score of 78 (+6). Matt Plunkett and Nick Turner both tallied 72 strokes on the weekend.
