WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point football team took to the practice field for the second day of spring practice on Wednesday evening.

HIGHLIGHTS OF DAY ONE
- Assistant coach David Corley is a new addition that is going through his first spring practice at West Point.Â
- Rhyan England flipped from his No. 20 to No. 8 for today's practice. He had worn 20 for the past few years at safety for the Black Knights.Â
- Scott Washle and James Nachtigal were getting rips as the top inside linebacker duo as the team replaces Jeremy Timpf and Andrew King.
- Washle was a backup inside linebacker and special teamer last year, while Nachtigal was also on special teams, but was an outside backer for the Black Knights.Â
- The team practiced in helmets only for the second day in a row, but will be in helmets and shoulder pads for tomorrow's practice.Â
- The practice ended with another tug-of-war competition as part of the fourth quarter warriors initiative. Jake Baumert won the second round going against Cordarrell Davis.Â
- "Last year's team is a different one than this year's team. The challenge is to just improve and try to get better as a football team and be the best that we can be. I thought last year, though we had won more games than we had in a while, there were times we could have played a lot better than we did. We probably didn't play up to our potential. So that is our challenge each week and if we can do that, I am confident we can win more games than we did last year. If we don't, we likely won't. What I have been challenging our team to do is improve, but not putting pressure on them or our staff. Not pressuring that we need to repeat it or be better than we were last year or we are a failure. I want us to be the best we can be."
