Army Opens Spring Practice

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army West Point football team was back out on the field for day one of spring practice on Tuesday evening.
The Black Knights kicked off practice at 5 p.m. and went to 7 p.m. at Howze Field.
The practice was setup the same as a fall practice would be with special teams kicking off the practice. Individual and team drills followed.

HIGHLIGHTS OF DAY ONE
- Calen Holt has moved from linebacker to fullback, while Ryan Velez has shifted to defensive back after spending last year at running back.
- Malik McGue has changed numbers is now No. 11 and has seen time at slotback.
- Ahmad Bradshaw and Chris Carter were both back at quarterback this spring.
- Some starters from last season were limited in practice and will be throughout the spring, allowing the younger players to see more time and to be evaluated.
- The team practiced in helmets only and they do so tomorrow during its second day of spring practice.
- The practice ended with a tug-of-war competition as part of the fourth quarter warriors initiative.
- The Black Knights are back out on the field tomorrow in the afternoon, starting at 4:45 p.m. at Howze Field.
