WEST POINT, N.Y. Â - The Army West Point baseball series against Harvard set for West Point this weekend has been moved to Cary, N.C.
Due to bad field conditions resulting from the recent winter storms that passed through the Hudson Valley, the two teams will now head south to play at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
The Black Knights and Crimson are still set to play four games in the series with doubleheaders scheduled for Saturday and Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. and 11 a.m., respectively. The twin bills will be shifted to seven innings for Game 1 followed by nine innings for Game 2.
Army will remain the home team throughout the weekend.
The Black Knights (7-12) turned in a 3-2 week, highlighted by back-to-back wins over Alabama State, including a 5-4 victory in 14 innings last Wednesday. Army also earned a 9-5 win over Presbyterian last Saturday behind a combined six runs batted in from second baseman Kris Lindner and right fielder Matt Hudgins.
The Crimson enter Saturday's contest with an overall record of 7-7. Harvard has strung together two straight after taking victories over Bucknell and Massachusetts during its last two outings in Port Charlotte, Fla.
