Army West Point Athletics
Feature Friday: Against All Odds
March 03, 2017 | Women's Lacrosse
Feature Friday highlights the tremendous personal stories our coaches and cadet-athletes have to share on a weekly basis. Each Friday, a new feature story will be prominently highlighted on GoArmyWestPoint.com. The features will include multimedia pieces, as well as written stories by media outlets and the Army West Point athletic communications staff.
The U.S. Military Academy is unique in many ways. One of the most awe inspiring aspects about West Point is that to be successful, cadets need to work hard and follow the process. There are no shortcuts. There are no accommodations.
Â
Cadets excel based on their work ethic, grit and dedication to the process. For Hannah Shiflet of the Army West Point women's lacrosse team, being a cadet at the U.S. Military Academy was always her goal, and although there were some roadblocks which included two medical waivers, she never lost sight of that dream. It just fueled her forward.
