March 02, 2017 | Baseball
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point baseball team travels back down to North Carolina for a three-game series with High Point.
Â
Army opens the weekend against the Panthers on Friday at 4 p.m. The two will then meet up against on Saturday at 2 p.m. before closing out the series on Sunday with a 1 p.m. first pitch. All contests for the weekend will be played at Williard Stadium.
Â
The Black Knights are 2-5 on the early season with key wins over Tulane and Duke.
Â
Senior Alex Dickerson was a huge factor in both of those wins as he combined for 11 RBI during those two games. He first compiled seven against the Green Wave before most recently bringing home four after a grand slam last weekend vs. the Blue Devils.
Â
The Roswell, Ga., native is currently leading the team with a .381 batting averaging. Fellow classmate Kris Lindner isn't far behind with a mark of .304 and a team-high four doubles.
Â
Daniel Gibbons is having a solid junior campaign, posting a team-best 2.53 ERA on the mound for the Black Knights. He has struck out 10 batters in his 10.2 innings of work.
