Gahagen Captures Army Athlete of the Week Nod

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After backing the Army West Point hockey team's three-game rally against Mercyhurst to advance in to the Atlantic Hockey Semifinals, senior goaltender Parker Gahagen has been selected as the Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week.

Gahagen recorded 110 saves in 171:24 minutes of action in the three-game series. In the team's wins, the Buffalo, N.Y., native made 37 and 40 saves. He picked up 33 in Saturday's overtime deficit to post a .917 save percentage over the weekend.

Army makes a return appearance to the semifinals after making it last season with a series sweep over Holy Cross. Gahagen went 14-4-0 on home ice this season.

The third-seeded Black Knights will play second-seeded Air Force in the semifinals on Friday night at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y., with an approximate 8 p.m. puck drop.
