On Point: Thank You For Your Service
December 21, 2017 | Football
This year the Army West Point Athletic Association has rebranded Feature Friday into a video and written feature series called On Point. The new design to the stories will help fans connect to the cadet-athletes better than ever before.
Â
On Point highlights the tremendous personal stories our coaches and cadet-athletes have to share on a weekly basis. Each week throughout the year, a new feature story will be prominently highlighted on GoArmyWestPoint.com. The features will include visual pieces, as well as written stories by media outlets and the Army West Point athletic communications staff.
Inspiring moments happen all the time for normal student-athletes. Whether it's meeting their favorite player, coach or even a notable individual from their favorite team. On Thursday while down in Fort Worth, Texas, for its bowl game, Army West Point football meet some of the most inspiring people -- Military Veterans. After practice, head coach Jeff Monken took his team a few miles down the road to the Dallas VA Medical Center where his Black Knights got a chance to interact with former veterans. Storytelling, laugher and appreciation ensued throughout the visit and Army relayed the message that they are happy to be following in their footsteps as future military leaders.Â
