Men's T&F to Start Season at Home

West Point, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's track and field team kicks off its 2017-18 indoor season Saturday at home.

The Cadets will host the Crowell Open in Gillis Field House with events starting at 8:30 a.m.

The Black Knight's return 44 cadet-athletes, including ten seniors. They also welcome 21 first-years to the roster.
Â
Returning to the team is junior Ben Sims, who was an individual winner last year at the Patriot League Indoor Championships in the 60-meter dash. The Black Knights also welcome back junior Kenneth Brinson who was an individual winner in weight throw at the Patriot League Indoor Championships last season, as well as senior Lee Bares who achieved the same title in the pole vault.

The Crowell Open is a commemorative meet for Carleton Crowell. A member of the West Point Hall of Fame, Crowell was the head coach of Army's track and field (1951-75) and cross country teams (1954-74) for more than 20 years.
