Army to Host #17 Colgate for Saturday Matinee

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After opening the season with 15 Atlantic Hockey contests, the Army West Point hockey team will get its first taste of non-league action when Colgate heads to Tate Rink Saturday for a 4:05 p.m. game.

- This will be the third time Army has faced the Raiders within the year and the second straight weekend Army will take to the ice at 4:05 p.m.
- Saturday's game also marks the Teddy Bear Toss where fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to the game and toss it onto the ice for the Toys for Tots Drive during the first intermission.
- After the game, the Black Knights and Long Island Rough Riders will face off against each other in their annual sled hockey game.

- Colgate enters the contest ranked 17th in the USCHO.com poll, and is receiving votes in the USA Today / USA Hockey Magazine poll.
- The Raiders are 8-4-4 with wins over ranked opponents #11 Western Michigan (5-1), #5 Harvard (2-1) and #11 Quinnipiac (4-1) this past month.
- Bobby McMann tops the team with 16 points on nine goals and seven assists.
- John Snodgrass makes things happen on offense with his 10 helpers on the year.
- Colton Point has started in all of Colgate's 14 games and boasts a .947 save percentage which is second in the country.
- His 1.66 goals against average to rank fifth nationally.
LAST WEEK: THREE GAMES DOWN
- The Black Knights competed in three games last week with a Tuesday night matchup at Sacred Heart and two home on the weekend against Canisius.
- Army netted 10 goals last week and had a total of 29 points. Dalton MacAfee, Alex Wilkinson, Dominic Franco and Tucker DeYoung each had a team-leading three points.
- The Black Knights also utilized their power play opportunities scoring four goals on the man-advantage.
- The senior class notched career tallies with 300 points, 200 assists and 100 goals. Cole Bruns saw action in all three games with an .867 save percentage.
- Jared Dempsey made his collegiate debut against Sacred Heart to earn the tie allowing no goals on 15 shots.
WITH VISION WE LEAD
- For the past two seasons, the Army hockey team has been led in scoring by the Class of 2020.
- This year is no different with Wilson producing 15 points and Franco 14 to rank one-two on the team.
- Alex Wilkinson adds nine points, while Zach Evancho has five and Brendan Soucie two.
- This season, the sophomore class has combined for 21 goals and 23 assists.
- If you tack those numbers onto last year's, the Black Knights' Class of 2020 has tallied 138 points overall in 52 contests to average 2.65 points per game.
CAREER MILESTONES
- Army's senior class broke career milestones in all scoring categories last week.
- The eight first classmen account for 100 goals, 202 assists and 302 points in an Army uniform.
- Six of the seniors have also played in over 100 career games.
