Army Prepares for Three League Games

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point hockey team continues its all-league streak of its schedule with one contest at Sacred Heart Tuesday night and a home series versus Canisius following the holiday. The games on Tuesday and Friday will begin at 7:05 p.m., while Saturday's puck will drop at 4:05 p.m. from Tate Rink.

- The Black Knights are currently tied for first in league rankings with 13 points along with Holy Cross.
- There will be six points up for grabs this week for the Black Knights who hope to stay atop the list.
- After Saturday's game, Army will not face another Atlantic Hockey opponent until January.
- For the past two seasons, the Army hockey team has been led in scoring by the Class of 2020. This year is no different with Michael Wilson producing 13 points and Dominic Franco 11 to rank first and second on the team.

- The Pioneers enter the weekend with a 3-8 record and 1-5 mark in Atlantic Hockey contests.
- Sacred Heart has earned home wins over UConn (3-1) and Canisius (6-2) and on the road at Notre Dame (6-4).
- The Pioneers produce 2.55 goals per game and average 3.00 goals per game at home.
- Sacred Heart is led by freshman Marc Johnstone with 11 points on three goals and eight assists.
- The rookie tops the league in freshman scoring with 1.00 goals per game.
- Brett Magnus has started in net for seven of the team's 11 contests and boasts a 3.85 goals against average and a .890 save percentage.

- Canisius has seem similar success to the Black Knights with a 6-4-1 record and a 6-4-0 mark in the league.
- The Golden Eagles are riding a three-game winning streak with a sweep over Bentley last weekend and a win over Mercyhurst the week prior.
- Canisius has scored at least five goals in its past three games and has only allowed six total. Dylan McLaughlin boasts a league-leading 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists.
- Similar to the Black Knights, the Golden Eagles lost their starting netminder last season and have seen success with Daniel Urban taking control of the net. He has picked up four of the team's wins and has a .912 save percentage.
WITH VISION WE LEAD
- For the past two seasons, the Army hockey team has been led in scoring by the Class of 2020. This year is no different with Wilson producing 13 points and Franco 11 to rank first and second on the team.
- Alex Wilkinson adds six points, while Zach Evancho has three and Brendan Soucie two.
- This season, the sophomore class has combined for 19 goals and 16 assists. If you tack those numbers onto last year's, the Black Knights' Class of 2020 has tallied 129 points overall in 49 contests to average 2.63 points per game.
NATIONAL RECOGNITION
- The Black Knights continue to gain national attention and received four votes in this week's USCHO.com National Poll.
- It is the fifth time this season the Black Knights have appeared in the USCHO.com Poll.
- They are joined in the poll by Holy Cross (9) and RIT (2).
