WEST POINT, N.Y. – Sophomore Lucas Weiland of the Army West Point wrestling team captured the individual title at 157 pounds as the Black Knights completed the Black Knight Invite on Sunday at Christl Arena.

The Black Knights sent three cadet-athletes to championship matches and placed 12 of its wrestlers.

Lock Haven's Kyle Shoop was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler.

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES

This was the first tournament Army hosted since the 2012-13 All-Academy Championships.
Lucas Weiland won his second individual title at 157 pounds.
Weiland notched the 15th victory of his career in the quarterfinals.
Rocco Caywood notched his 40th-career victory in the quarterfinals.
Rookie Lane Peters collected three bonus point victories on the day, bringing him to eight on the season.
Trey Chalifoux opened the tournament with two major decisions, setting a new single-season best with three.
Chalifoux recorded his 20th-career victory in the quarterfinals with a 13-2 major decision over Luke Eckloff.
Rookie Jimmy Saylor earned his team-leading third pin of the season.
Noah Stewart earned his team-leading fourth technical fall.
