Brinson Earns Academic Accolades

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Junior linebacker Kenneth Brinson was voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® First Team on Friday.
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in December.
Brinson is a three-year starter for the Black Knights and is majoring in Chemical Engineering. He currently is sporting a 4.06 grade point average, which is among the top GPAs in his class at the academy.
On the field, Brinson has started 27 games for the Black Knights and with 23 starts in a row. He has a total of 95 tackles, including 14 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks in his career. He had a career high 45 tackles in 2016 and has posted 31 this season.
The Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools, and other affiliations.
