Army West Point Athletics
Feature Friday: John Emezie's Journey
January 27, 2017 | General, Men's Basketball
Feature Friday highlights the tremendous personal stories our coaches and cadet-athletes have to share on a weekly basis. Each Friday, a new feature story will be prominently highlighted on GoArmyWestPoint.com. The features will include multi-media pieces, as well as written stories by media outlets and the Army West Point athletic communications staff.
For Army West Point men's basketball player John Emezie life growing up was not an average one. When John was just one-year old he and his parents immigrated from Nigeria, leaving behind two of his siblings. After a few long and hard years of adjusting to their new home in the United States, John and his parents were finally reunited with their entire family. But the Nigerian ideals were never far from sight, helping transform John into the person he is today.
