Army Tabbed Third in Patriot League Preseason Poll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Army West Point women's tennis team was selected third in the Patriot League's preseason poll, announced Thursday.
Reigning league champion, Boston University, was selected first with 124 points and 14 first-place votes. Navy, who fell 4-1 in the championship match to the Terriers, is second with four first-place votes and 111 points. The Black Knights, who posted a 20-6 record last season, rounded out the top three.
Lehigh was chosen fourth with 84 points, followed by Bucknell's 68 points. Loyola was picked to finish sixth with 57 points, while Colgate (51 points), Lafayette (28 points) and Holy Cross (18 points) close out the rankings.
Army opens its season with a split-squad weekend. Â A portion of the team will compete at the NJIT Invite on Jan. 21-22, while the remaining members will travel to Cornell for the first dual of the season on the 22nd.
