Men’s Soccer Faces Hofstra Saturday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's soccer team finishes its two-game road trip with a match at Hofstra on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
Army's contest against Hofstra will finish off an Army-Hofstra doubleheader, as the Black Knights' women's team will face the Pride at 1 p.m.

Army plays Hofstra for the second season in a row, after falling to the Pride, 1-0, last year at Clinton Field. The Black Knights are 1-2-0 in the all-time series, with their only victory against Hofstra coming during the first meeting between the schools in 1970.
Hofstra finished the year 14-8 in 2015 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament. The Pride knocked off Patriot League champion Lehigh in the opening round of the NCAAs before falling to No. 2 Georgetown in the second round.
ARMY (1-2-0, 0-0-0 PATRIOT LEAGUE)
• Army fell to a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat at Marist in its last game on Sept. 4.
• Freshman Rex Epps scored an equalizing goal to make the score 1-1 with 49 seconds remaining in the contest before Marist struck for the game-winning goal with just a second left in regulation.
• Epps leads the Cadets with three goals, while seniors Christian Clark and Nick Williams, and freshman Tyler Mitchiner all have one goal.
• Junior Christian Nolasco and freshman Justin Stoll have each seen time in goal this season, with Nolasco appearing in every game and Stoll playing twice. Stoll earned the start in the Marist game, while Nolasco was named the starter for contests against Air Force and LIU Brooklyn.
HOFSTRA (1-2-1, 0-0-0 COLONIAL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION)
• Hofstra comes into Saturday's game on a three-game winless streak, most recent playing to a 0-0 draw at Harvard on Sept. 4.
• The Pride opened the season with four straight road matches and will play three of their next four at home.
• Senior Joseph Holland leads Hofstra with two goals this season, while freshman Luke Brown has found the back of the net once.
• Goalkeepers Leonard Arkhanhelskyi and Alex Ashton have split time in net through the team's first four games, with each earning two starts.
